This page is designed to give you a brief overview of the
training you will undertake. The complete SCOTSAC Training schedule can be
found by following the link for Training Documentation on the left.
The training is carried out initially in the pool where basic
skills can be learnt in safety then progresses to the Open Water. Before
training commences we ask that each person completes a Swimming Test (an easy
one!) to ensure a certain level of confidence in the water.

In addition to the practical skills there is also a theory
test which covers various aspects of diving such as Decompression Theory, Diving
Physiology etc.
On completion of the training and successfully logging a certain
amount of dives you will be awarded with the Sport Diver Qualification which is
Internationally recognised.
If you wish you can continue your instruction and gain further
advanced diving qualifications. Courses are also available through SCOTSAC
on a number of diving related subjects like Oxygen Administration, Nitrox &
